Press release: Expansion of the management board of iNovitas AG

21.04.2022

Baden, 21.04.2022. iNovitas AG, the Swiss market leader for cloud-based provision and use of digital roads and rails, recently launched an innovative project that is revolutionising digitalisation in infrastructure management. In view of this exciting development phase, the company is strengthening the management with three additional personalities in order to quickly and purposefully master the challenges of this growth phase combined with high objectives.

Within the framework of the growth financing achieved, iNovitas is facing exciting years and new challenges. Together with its strategic partners, iNovitas has recently embarked on an exciting and visionary transformation phase in order to increasingly drive digitalisation in the road and rail infrastructure sector with new digital approaches. The positive development of the last years and the increasing complexity of this growth phase requires a broader coverage of competences in the management of iNovitas. The company is therefore supplementing the existing management team with Dr Hannes Eugster (former CTO - now Chief Strategy Officer CSO and co-founder) and Stefan Basler (Chief Commercial Officer CCO), who continue to act as co-CEOs, with the following new members:

  • Joel Burkhard has been promoted to the new position of Member of the Executive Board, effective 1 March 2022. As the new Chief Technology Officer CTO, he will be responsible for the entire technical area of the company, with the aim of scaling the technology developed in-house and driving it forward in an innovation-oriented manner. As a long-time employee, he knows the values, goals and structures of the company very well and will ideally complement the leadership team with his competencies. Joel Burkhard has been a strong member of the "Research and Development" business unit since the founding of iNovitas (2011) - at the beginning still involved in joint research projects as a research assistant at the FHNW - and from 2018 as its head as well as a management member of iNovitas. His research work during the founding phase already contributed significantly to the successful establishment of the infra3D technology. With his outstanding knowledge base and many years of experience, he is an ideal fit in our management team to jointly master the next stage of development and goals of the company.
  • Adrian Bärtschi will be Chief Financial Officer CFO with responsibility for Finance and Controlling as well as Human Resources Management as of 1 June 2022. He brings with him several years of experience in management positions and extensive expertise in the areas of finance and human resources management in internationally active companies. He therefore has the ideal qualifications to help shape the continuous development of the company as a member of the Executive Board.

The newly appointed Chief Operation Officer COO will take office in October 2022 and complete the expansion of the Executive Board. The division of management responsibilities among five heads is intended to strengthen the knowledge base and sustainability in the company while creating room for creative growth and innovation. The strengthened management team, together with the entire team, will drive the implementation of the company's visionary goals as well as its targeted growth trajectory.

«We are pleased that with Mr. Joel Burkhard and Adrian Bärtschi we were able to gain very experienced and competent personalities as new members of the Executive Board. The expansion of the Executive Board is another important step in the company's development and strengthens us in the rapid and targeted implementation of our vision and the growth targets we are striving for.» - Co-founder and CSO,  Dr. Hannes Eugster
